   Silks and Stable Name Registry

Welcome To The Jockey Club's Silks And Stable Name Registry!

Although The Jockey Club is better known as the breed registry for Thoroughbreds in North America, the rules of racing in New York State require that a Thoroughbred owner must register his or her stable name and his or her jockey silks with The Jockey Club if a horse is going to run at one of the four Thoroughbred racetracks in New York State (Aqueduct, Belmont Park, Finger Lakes or Saratoga Race Course).

Personnel are available to process stable names and silks registrations at The Jockey Club office on all racing days at whichever track or tracks are conducting live racing on that particular day (Aqueduct, Belmont Park, Saratoga and Finger Lakes Race Track).

By registering stable names and silks with The Jockey Club, an owner is guaranteed exclusive use of the stable name and silks design when racing Thoroughbreds in New York State.

However, owners who race horses in other states are welcome to, and often do, register their stable name and silks with The Jockey Club as well.
